NOTE : You can simply just attach the antenna elements to the inside of the plastic bumper cover with the included adhesive strips and secure with silicone glue. [www.bumperantenna.com] [www.licenseplateantenna.com] [www.disguiseantenna.com]
INSTALLATION of DIVERSITY License Plate and Bumper Antennas When the vehicle has only one License Plate, install a Bumper Antenna between the skin of the front Bumper and the foam separator cushion. Try to keep the elements as far from metal as possible. Antennas that are too close to bumpers or metal will cause high SWR! When License Plate is recessed deep in a metal deck lid, use a Bumper Antenna. The Diversity Divider Box will mix any combination of License Plate or Bumper Antennas. Use three adhesive stickers on the Bumper Antenna element and three stickers on the ground plane element. When tightening the screw connecting the two elements, carefully use a screwdriver and a wrench to avoid breaking the center conductor in the transmission cable. Be very careful to not crush the transmission cable under the rear seat or tie-wrap cables too tightly. When you have completed installing the Bumper Antenna elements, use a dab of silicone glue on the element tips and between each of the stickers. We also recommend covering the screw and nut with silicone. In the License Plate installation, sand a small area (about the size of a dime) on the back side of the License Plate screw hole, usually the top left corner, then feed the ground plane element away from the Plate between the skin and foam of the bumper, Never behind the License Plate or parallel with transmission cable!, it will cause high SWR. Use the same method as above with the stickers and silicone. Put the screw through the License Plate hole, then the center conductor of the of the transmission cable and tighten.
CAUTION! Dress all transmission cables close to floor under floor carpets. Avoid close proximity to all ECM, Computers, and associated SENSORS, i.e. AIR BAG, FUEL injection, Brake systems or Computer driven Devices! IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO REMOVE EITHER BUMPER TO MAKE INSTALLATION
I NSTALLATION of Factory ROD (Mast) Antenna
Remove the original factory antenna rod and base from the vehicle. SAVE the Original Factory Antenna Rod, all screws, escutcheon, and cap nut.Install new antenna base, using original screws, escutcheon, cap nut and the factory antenna rod. If the antenna cable routing holes are too small to fish the co-ax connector and cable, DO NOT cut the cable, or replace the co-ax connector! This will change the cable length and tuning. Try to find a larger hole or a good place to drill one. Installation on a Chevy Suburban or Tahoe, you can run the antenna cable through a 3/8" wire loom across the top of the fire wall, then through the grommet on the firewall near the steering column.CAUTION! Be sure to connect the AM/FM cable to the correct port, If not, damage to the Good-time (entertainment) radio is almost certain. You may see up to 20% return loss when checking SWR, however the system will return to proper range when the SWR meter and extra cable is removed. If you see the same power forward as back, check for shorts or incorrect wiring. This system was tuned with a factory antenna rod. If your antenna rod is lost or destroyed, it can be replaced with a factory antenna rod purchased from your auto dealer. Patents Pending
EURO "STINGER"
Disguised EURO "STINGER" Roof Antenna 150 MHz. / 400 MHz. / 800 MHz. BANDS DISGUISED EURO "STINGER" ROOF ANTENNA INSTALLATION OF THE ROOF ANTENNA: Wash your hands, and then drop the headliner in the rear or front of the vehicle. Drill a 7/16" hole in the roof. Install the base of the antenna through the drilled hole with some silicone around the gasket and then tighten the bolt finger tight. Take a look from the outside to make sure the base is straight, and then finish tightening the mounting bolt. Feed the R/G 58 cable between the headliner and the roof down through a support post. Continue to the transceiver and connect it to the radio or the frequency divider box in multi-band systems. Wash hands, and then re-fit the headliner. . . .
